Okinawan culture is quite different from
that of other prefectures in Japan. For example,
Okinawa is known for its Ryukyu music, Ryukyu
dance, Eisa-dance, and many other "only
in Okinawa" traditions.
These traditions originated in the 14th from
the Chinese through the trade transit. Okinawa
brought about unique culture mixed with foreign
and native cultures, and the newborn culture
has been developed.
