The Department of Business Administration

Training business leader that can respond to the diverse needs of modern society

A Practical Education

With advances in information technology and globalization, there have been radical changes in the corporate and business environment. Students in the Department of Business Administration can systematically acquire the practical knowledge and specialized skills that this rapidly changing business community demands.

In order to train graduates who can be immediately effective in the actual world, our curriculum focuses on practical studies that have a direct bearing on corporate activities and business.

A Solid Curriculum

Our curriculum allows students to gain comprehensive knowledge in marketing, management, and accounting; and a deeper, specialized knowledge in the field of their choice. In other words, we offer general classes for acquiring the minimally required knowledge to become a business generalist, and advanced major subject classes for acquiring the skills required of specialists in marketing, management, or accounting.

In addition, we offer classes dealing with multimedia, such as E-Commerce and Marketing, Business Management and Information Science, and Computerized Accounting; and classes dealing with internationalization, such as English for Marketing, International Business Management, and English for Bookkeeping and Accounting, so that students can adapt to an advanced information-oriented society in an international era.

Class Content for Acquiring Licenses and Certification

Our curriculum provides students with the opportunity to acquire a wide range of license and certificates, including the Upper Secondary School Teacher's License (in Business or Civics), the Lower Secondary School Teacher's License (in Social Studies), the Business Administrator in Advanced Studies Certificate, and the Business Information Administrator in Advanced Studies Certificate. (Refer to page 13 for details.)

In addition, many of our classes provide support for passing various certification and licensing exams, including the JCCI (Japan Chamber of Congress and Industry) Business Skill Test in Retail Sales, the JCCI Business Skill Test in Bookkeeping, the Bookkeeping and Accounting Test for International Communication (BATIC), the JCCI Business Skill Test in Business Computing, the JCCI Japanese Word Processing Exam, the personal Computer User's Applocation Technician Exam, the Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant Exam, the Tax Accountant Certification Exam, and the Public Accountant Certification Exam.

The Department of Industry and Information Science

Training graduates with sound knowledge and skills

Graduates for the Real World

As advances in information technology and internationalization bring changes to the world of industry, there is a growing need both for information specialists who can contribute to the invigoration of local industry and for advanced business specialists who have the information analysis skills and the international business outlook required in corporate management. To respond to this need, specialists will need to have all of the following skills: the "ability to pursue tasks" by making flexible and comprehensive judgments based on a broad outlook, "logical thinking" grounded in a systematic study of basic theory, a new kind of “intellectual creativity,” and a high-level ability to put information to practical use through information processing. The Department of Industry and Information Science is nurturing talented individuals that have the advanced computer training needed for active participation in the industrial world. Through a business education that explores both “the computerization of industry” and “the industrialization of computers,” we train graduates who can independently and flexibly adapt to the increasingly advanced, complex, and global environment of a rapidly developing information-oriented society.

Curriculum and Courses

Ever mindful of turning out the skilled graduates that the real world requires, we offer courses of study that allow students to gain a thorough knowledge in their specialty, while acquiring a balance of computer skills and knowledge in industry and economics. The Industry and Information Science Course primarily offers classes relating to industry and economics, provides additional classes to teach basic computer skills, and aims to train graduates that can be active in the offices of governmental and economic-related organizations. The Information Strategies Course primarily offers classes relating to business management information, provides additional classes to teach high-level computer skills, and aims to train the skilled workers needed in the offices of corporations and industry-related organizations. In addition, many opportunities for practical study and training are available through classes such as Internships, Venture Business, and Executive Seminars. We expect students to pursue their studies following a systematic curriculum so that they can realize their individual dreams for the future.
