Program Overview:
The Japanese Language and Culture Program is a fun and exciting three-week program in July offered to students attending many of OKIU’s partner universities. The program consists of two components: (1) a language component, which helps participants acquire general Japanese skills to use in daily life, and (2) a culture component, which provides participants with various fun and meaningful experiences to give them an inside look into Japanese and Okinawan culture and society.
Program Content:
Japanese language classes, cultural experiences, a short homestay, field trips, and fun activities.

A 3-star hotel(includes breakfast and a short homestay with a local family)
How to apply:
Students attending an OKIU partner university should apply at their home university.

Japanese Classes:
Participants are placed in the class that best matches their Japanese ability.
Class 1 (Beginner)
Participants learn basic Japanese sentence patterns and how to communicate in real-life situations. They also study Japanese culture and work to improve their reading and listening skills.
Class 2 (Intermediate and Advanced)
Participants broaden their grammatical competence, improve their functional ability in Japanese, and sharpen their communicative skills while increasing their vocabulary.
